Im about to build a Gimbal that support RED. Some people say ipower 5208 180T (3 motors) can support red. I saw some videos as well, but I dont think its reliable since the motors are working very hard to balance the heavy camera.
here are them two options i would like you fellas help me out.
1. using 3 ipower 8017-120T motors 2 using 2 ipower 5209 120T and 2 ipower 5208 180T (any diagrams how to wire 2 motors along the same axis ??)
so which way is more convinient for heavy cameras like RED?
Y servo cable connecting the 2 tilt motors they must turning in the same direction. Auto detect one at a time the should be both reversed or not reversed other wise you will need to switch wires around.
that's the exact frame i have, what if they dont sync perfectly the same, this may cause a problem. thenx for pointing that out, I'll give it a try and will post the build.
Jhona, The setup with 2 boards does not work, unless you plan to use one board with the small Yaw Ext board ... but there may be an issue with big amps.
Our solution is to go with the new big amp board with all 3 axis on it
they have awsome looking gimbals with 4 motors, I'm not sure they use Alexmos board...the build is really nice. eventho they use 4 motors on that gimbal, the fact that it doesn't support RED cams...
Anyone running the 8108-150 motors for Roll and Yaw, and 5208-200 (2 of them) for pitch? I have set it all up with Red Scarlet, Side handle, and sigma 18-35mm f:1.8. Camera with everything weighs 8.8 lbs. I have balanced Pitch and Roll perfectly but struggling a little with YAW. I'm also struggling a ton with calibration and PID/Motor settings for the rig. I have begun video of all my efforts and findings, I will post soon. Any suggestions on Sensor mounting possibly too? Will post all my findings as they come.
