Dunno was wondering if it would provide better control or anything I'm new as heck to this built most of my rig in the dark until I found this site recently
Start with one, and when you find use for second one think it again. Joystick + potentiometers are more useful, but you do not need the potentiometers either to start with.
You could use a potentiometer for adjusting joystick speed etc, but really that is advanced stuff. You can well start without even joystick and operate the gimbal in follow mode. Better get something working well first and then add features when you need them.
Agreed I'm always over eager to jump head first lol.. so how is yaw operated....I'm waiting on my battery to arrive via shipment haven't even powered on yet so far updated my firmware but no calibration or anything yet
Sensor you can calibrate without battery or motors, you just need the board and sensor connected to it and USB cable and computer with the GUI.
But really, you need to read carefully the users manual (see manuals at top of the page) and carefully following the instructions in details setup the gimbal.
Yea but on my phone it doesn't give me the option to post a picture on here....do I have to use computer for that? Lol And yes it only allows my Joy stick to control my pitch no matter which direction I push the analog stick up down left right only controls pitch
I set RC to no input excluding pitch and yaw on pin a1 and a2 only get pitch Set it with just yaw I get nothing I'll screen shot some photos today and try to upload
I know it can't be the joystick or its connection pins because I've swapped both and still get the same results.... If I plug yaw onto the pitch pins of the board then the yaw works correctly but pitch does not
Do you have the gimbal now working well without the joystick? On above pictures the mechanical setup is not ok and the PID tuning is undone and probably the most important Basic setup. There is no point proceeding before the gimbal is working well and tuned.
It is about the physical balancing, it is all wrong. Your roll cage is like hanging... I can not really help you more before you read the users manual / see the videos, and make the gimbals basic functionality ok.
