I'm new to camera gear, but I hobby in engineering. A friend asked if I could figure out a compact 3 axis gimbal with a follow focus thumb dial on the handle, and an external monitor. He uses a Canon 5D mkII that weighs in at about 11 lbs with his heaviest lens. I was hoping the community here could recommend a motor, controller, and battery combo suitable for this kind of weight. I should also note that the pitch axis will often be off balance because of the lenses.
Sorry for asking to be spoon-fed information. I'm just so busy with work that I can't spare the many hours it'll take me to get up to speed on the electronics side of things. As soon as I have the electronics in hand, I can take measurements, and start modeling the finished product. I will be cnc milling my own components from aluminum. I look forward to sharing the build
HELLO, For large camera over 10lb recommend GB85 , GB90 BY TIGER RC or GB110 , GB100 by i-flight. Power would be 4S to 6S lipo . You will also need cages for these motors as well you can find here. http://brushlessgimbal.ca/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=20_22
hello, motor will work but the price is a little low for genuine i-power motors beware of that, GB110 BETTER CHOICE if you can not get Tiger RC GB90 or GB85.
