No Yaw Control
  • Hello all!

I'm trying to finish up my DSLR handheld gimbal kit and I am having issues with the Yaw axis. I have a 32 Bit ARM Cortex M4; 2 IMU; V2.43 b6 with BGM5208-200 motors.

My pitch and roll axis are working great and do a pretty good job stabilizing but still need some fine tuning.

My biggest issue is no Yaw control at all. I have never had any movement out of the motor when connected to the yaw motor slot on the board (yaw moves around frictionless).

Here is my trouble shooting attempts that have had no success:

I switched the Yaw and Roll connection on the board- This allow the Yaw motor to move and stabilize but killed the Roll motor.
I tried increasing the power to the yaw motor to 255 - No affect / Still no movement
I tried every combination of PIDs - No affect / Still no movement
I tried moving my second IMU above Yaw - No affect

I've tried every setting I can think of in the GUI with no success. Is there a chance it is a bad board?

I would be so grateful for any help trouble shooting this issue!

    Thanks!
  • Hello, please, send photo of both control board and photo of your gimbal.
  • AndrewSupport,

Sorry for the delay on getting back with you. I think I discovered the issue with the board. The control card was missing a capacitor next to the yaw motor slot. A friend can solder small connections like that and is in the process of hopefully fixing my issue.

Does this look like a true Basecam card? This is one of the many eBay gimbal kits now available.

  • Hello, on your photo is difficult to determine, its looks like a board from our partners.
    Lost component is capacitor: 10nF 50V 0603.
