Cannot connect gimbal simpleBGC model 3.1 and firmware 2.2

I am having an issue that I cannot connect the board to the computer. At first I install the latest Java and when I press "connect", the app crashes and creates a log file containing error. I search on the Internet and it said it was an issue with the latest Java version, the version before 8u141 was fine. I then follow that and now the app does not crash. However, when I press "connect" it says "connecting to COM1.." and stuck like that for a long time. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I have the same issue and downloaded the latest version from filehorse. Can you elaborate on what the problem might be. My PC connects to the device because it powers the device. I see two green lights an one red beside the USB connection. The motors also receive power. The board says "connecting to com3" and that's as gar as I get so far
