Battery reverse polarity damage?
  • Hello,
I made a mistake when plugging the battery to my BaseCam SimpleBGC 32-bit. I inversed the polarity..
    The USB connection still work.

Is there something to do to repair my card? Or I've to replace it by a new one?
    Many thanks!
  • // EDIT: Not totally sure if I inversed the polarity..
The cables from the batteries were taken unsoldered and I had put them back without knowing what were their polarities (2 black wires). I think I made the mistake of reversing. //
  • I made a little video to explain my problem.

Someone know what can I do to repair it?
  • Is there any component that looks like damaged? It could be that there is just one component damaged and then it could be that that component could be replaced, but that would require good soldering skills and soldering station.

Some boards claim that they have reverse voltage protection, check your board specifications. In any case it would be good to contact the seller, maybe they can help.
  • Thanks for your answer!
Hard to be sure but I don't see something damaged.

Is there a way to know which component could be damaged? An electronics professionnel could know that by testing the circuit?

I wrote an e-mail to the seller.
  • Thank you for the link and for your help.
My problem is solved, I bought a voltmetre to control the battery polarity (it was wrong).
    After reversing, everything works !
Good to know: My CAME steadycam is protected from reversed polarities.
