I am working through the setup of my new BASECAM 3-way Gimbal on windows 8.1.
The BASECAM board is connected via USB
In device Manager I have the 'Silicon Labs CP210x YSB to UART Bridge' registered as COM3.
Using Xloader I flashed the firmware to - SimpleBGC_2_40b7.enc.hex
I have installed and successfully launched - SimpleBGC_GUI_2_40

In the GUI I select COM3 from dropdown and click connect.
The GUI tells me ''Board: connecting to COM3' and it hangs... that's as far as I've got :(

If I disconnect the BASECAM board the GUI states 'Serial Data corrupted' in the dialogue box at the bottom. This indicates to me that they are talking to one another but the GUI simply wont connect to the board.

note: when I flash the firmware Xloader says 'upload failed' I read somewhere that this does not mean that the firmware wasn't successfully flashed/loaded.

I hope someone can help me spark some life into my beloved Frankenstein???
