First time Gimbal builder w/ Unique use case
  • I have never built a brushless gimbal before but and i'm looking for advice on getting started.

My use case is for a single Axis unit to control the pitch of on off-road pod light or light bar.
I have a 6lbs 20" long light bar that I want to build the gimbal for

    20" light bar https://offbrandproducts.com/products/aurora-20-inch-evolve-led-light-bar
    4" light pod https://www.diodedynamics.com/stage-series-3-sae-dot-white-pro-led-pod-pair.html

    a few questions
    1. What are the best tutorials on selecting motors, building the gimbal & tuning the controller
    2. I know yaw can be tuned to follow or lock, can it be tuned to lead, meaning if the gimbal starts to yaw right it will yaw 5-20% farther leading faster essentially
    3. some light are heavy, can I use 1 motor on each side to get more torque? will a controller handle that?
    4. Is there a turn key development kit that could get me started with a .5lb to 2lb light?
