I2C ERRORS
Forgot to leave the solution for this...After I changed boards I kept having I2C errors. Unplugged all the motors and tried one by one. Only one had the errors. Had changed boards and IMU with no success...I changed the motor. It worked. It was one …

P I D settings
Hi Marian Don´t ask me why but sometimes a gimbal which is exactly the same as the other acts differently with the exact same PID´s. Once you understand how and why to tune it you´ll be able to tune anything...

Advantages of 3-axis over 2-axis for UAV?
Garug yes. I mean the yaw movement when the path is corrected during flight. On a 3 axis gimbal the yaw movements are less noticeable as the 3rd axis corrects with to some extent. Also when the roll is upset on the gimbal i.e. wind or multirotor sud…

Setting offsets - aligning the gimbal
Do the auto offset first. It will properly set the offsets for pitch and roll (don´t forget to position the frame perfectly aligned with the ground before doing the offsets) and them do the yaw offset by hand with the power cycle trick :-) Good luck

Motors will not start immediately after switching on controller
Are you sure you skipped gyro calibration at startup? If not the motors won´t start until gyro calibrates

Setting offsets - aligning the gimbal
I think you´ll have to study bettr the offsets and the way they work. It took me a long time to do it but now I understand how it works. I don´t think if I explain you will understand what I mean as I will probably see the system from a different a…

The ideal focal length to these gimbals is the 24mm. If we´re using full frame like 5DMKII or MKIII

Advantages of 3-axis over 2-axis for UAV?
djmorgan...the side to side movement on the yaw axis on my rigs only happen with 2 axis gimbals...the 3rd axis always compensates the side to side movement.

Advantages of 3-axis over 2-axis for UAV?
djmorgan it is always useful to use a 3 axis gimbal even if you leave it in follow mode and don´t do any movements with the yaw...Everytime you upset the gimbal roll axis i.e., it always makes the yaw move and try to compensate...this is physics. Ho…

Some strange behaviour
I didn´t understand which version of firmware you are using 2.3? 2.4? Anyway the main power is too low for a 5D with 24-105mm. Roll should be 200, Pitch 175, and Yaw 200 too. The auto offset is not a rule. Use auto offset but Yaw has to be done by h…

Strange irregular Vibrations
chris81...check prop balancing and frame vibrations. Even being irregular he vibrations can be from props and motors. Vibrations differ with rotation and power...even with battery drainage.

better higher power or P?
start raising the overall power. Wait for 10mns if it is too hot (more than 60-70 degrees) lower the power. Better would be to ask the manufacturer....but you will realize that they either don´t know or won´t tell because they are rewound motors. I…

better higher power or P?
pOlas...the overall power is related to the P on the PID´s but is more the voltage the motors get when you unbalance the gimbal. Example: you have overall power at 120. Then the P is 15. You upset the gimbal and notice you need more power...turn the…

no just start showing they´re alive. You lift it from the ground and it will be fine. Or you don´t have to wait much. As soon as you feel it coming alive lift it up.

It is much easier to tune the PID´s on the "low" mode. I tried and it really is. But I can´t stand that sound!!!
