Yaw Jitter
Is gimbal producing high frequency vibrations? If yes, maybe you can try using Notch Filters. By using Notch filters I managed to use much higher gains that resulted in noticeable better stabilization.

I have the same problem using the latest 2.66b0 firmware and also stable version 2.63b0. When I downgrade to 2.62b8 I can calibrate el.fields without problem.

Noise and Twitching on Pitch Axis
AUTO-DETECT doesn't always work correctly. So you need to manually enter number of poles. I'd rather suggest you to switch to 32bit controller and dual IMU. That is what helped me a lot with my GoPro gimbal builds.

Yaw won't turn past certain point, twiching and shaking.
Check connectors, they can be loose. If connectors are not causing these problems then use Garug's suggestion and also use additional ferrite rings on motor and IMU wires.

Also, be sure that you enter correct number of poles. AUTO function for motor direction works great but can screw up number of poles value. Enter manually number of poles, it is most likely 14.
