Encoder gear ratio.
Good, yes, the pole number must be entered correct as according the actual motor, the Auto function does not usually get it right.

two motors one Axis
If it is correctly setup, two or more motors just became as one. A single motor is just much easier to setup and use.

Encoder gear ratio.
Without looking into deeper to it, I assume it is just internal calculation, and nothing to worry or be concerned. The encoders are max 14 bit and there is 16 bits available for the number, i.e 4x... Just see the users manual when you are setting t…

Encoder gear ratio.
If there is no gears, the gear ration is 1. If there is gears, that defines your gear ration. Sounds like you are over analysing.

Yaw very slow move itself....
a single GPS alone will not work on drones. On car it is ok, but not great. This is as car goes always where the wheels point, but drone goes sideways.

Whats the Frame IMU its for?
WIth encoders you do not need frame IMU. It has some speasila uses for some spesial setup, but even with them I do not use it.

Yeah, just beive me :) , any IMU used on these gimbals will drift. external reference is needed to remove the drift.

Yaw very slow move itself....
The IMU by its nature will drift. How much it drifts and to what direction is IMU and calibration dependant and temperature and many more factors. How does it help that you have a frame IMU that drifts? To remove drifting, you need a reference that…

Yaw very slow move itself....
external heading reference that does not drift is the only way to remove it. the result just depends how good external reference you have. Typically such reference is compination of GPS, IMU, Compass and calculation, i.e flight controller or somethi…

Yaw very slow move itself....
No, there is no fix for it. Gyro drift is normal. You can remove the drift only by referensing the gimbal to outer frame, but then the gimbal will follow if the outer frame will move or by external heading reference that does not drift. The gimba…

It is normal. Gyro calibration will reduse it but not completelly remove. follow mode will remove it when the outer frame is fixed.

re-fitting a Ronin Gimbal
If you could measure the motor resistance and find encoder type that would help long way. If resistance is more than 10 ohms per phase ypu could use BaseCam extended board, if it is much less you will need Pro of CAN boards that have better current…

GUI alwayts says Acceleromter is not calibrated
Just simple calibration will remove that message. Do you have also frame IMU activated, if so calibrate also it.

Serial API + GPS to follow a moving target
See the description of the video, here is more about the system https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=66387 geopointing at the end of the second page. On this we are still using just a normal GPS. It could also follow the targe…

LS-FOG-01AB - IMU sensor
I guess the main purpose of such IMU would be to reduse the drifting. It could be used as external reference for the system to do that. It needs an interfasing unit though. We are developing geopointing. (vimeo.com/307032195) We are focusing t…

You must enter the correct and actual physical numbers of the motor poles, see from the motor specifications. Power level depends of motors and battery, there is no general rule for that. just make sure power is low enough so that motors do not hea…

IMU Placement - General Question
For what do you need frame IMU? Main IMU ideally at center of the axis, but more importantly on solid place. Best to test diffrent installation points it depends of the gimbal.
