#boldgimbal - new gimbal for dslr
yeah, thank you Garug. I mean it is still complicated to tune for ppl who are far away from that area - most of them won't tweak filters. And movi and ronin are still ahead with their autotune.

#boldgimbal - new gimbal for dslr
We implemented 32 bit version. All pids are autotuned. (pitch autotune -> roll autotune -> yaw autotune -> pitch again autotune from prev values) No filters are applied No post or lens stabilization I didn't believed that but 32bit c…

disable follow yaw
hi, i am a bit confused now what you need) if you want your "gimbal to move in yaw only if i yaw it through the RC" you need to disable follow mode (so the gimbal is locked to one direction) and assign your RC output in RC tab (if they ar…

disable follow yaw
hi codba, yes, you need connect to gimbal thru gui and open "Follow" tab and untick follow focus. It will work for handheld. For copter you may also want to check "RC" tab and FC window - wheter there is something for yaw or not.

Smoothnes problem on PITcH
Mogway28, hi! you may also try to switch motors with roll and pitch inputs on the board and change the corrsponding outs in gui. For one more check But i guess it's because of your pid settings. Have you tried other pid values? 7 0,02 and 9 ar…

Gibal working fine untill rc input 8bit 2.4b7
Mrimstad, yes it's possible to see input in android. You can also connect to pc using bt adapter. As Garug said - look at realtime tab. It may be that joystick "neutral" (when nothing is pressed) position doesn't eqaul ~1500 in …

setting up Bluetooth HC-05 adapter (mac)
Oops, just realised that for 32bit there is the serial port speed settings in advanced tab. So you can buy any bt, ie hc05 and just choose the right value in serial port speed. Garug, you can delete bt connection and then pair it again. I belive i…

setting up Bluetooth HC-05 adapter (mac)
photopop, you missed the main steps 4) and 6) -9) - you need to change the baud rate of bt using special software programms like Terminal through FTDI (you use alexmos instead of FTDI - i don't know for sure, but i guess you won't be able…

setting up Bluetooth HC-05 adapter (mac)
no, its important to hold the 34 pin till the last 9) step. If you remove it after it starts blinking - you won't be able to get AT response from the board - it was my main mistake:)

setting up Bluetooth HC-05 adapter (mac)
photopop, i spent days to set the hc-05 and now it's clear: since default alexmos baud rate 115200 and hc 05 is 9600 or 38400 (depends on how you enter at mode) you will need to change the baud rate of hc05 to 115200. to do that you'll nee…

#boldgimbal - new gimbal for dslr
Thank you for response Garug! I still haven't tested 32 bit really close. What's your opinion: is there really so much difference in stabilization quality between 8 and 32 (except critical angles) and with proper sets 32 greatly outperfo…

RC + joystick on the same gimbal
Ahh, the joystick connected to FC pins doesn't respond in realtime tab. Just simply display the same value.

Running IMU through slip ring
Today i was testing continuous 360 on yaw. And yo know what? slip rings sucks! The idea was to use hollow shaft motor with slip ring to deliver wires to battery and joystick above yaw. Within a day some wires on 2 slip rings stop working. First i …

Alexmos "Auto Tuning"
what about 8 bits. I guess auto tuning will be only on 32. Will the future firmware updates be available for 8 bit, or its abandoned now and they only focused on 32 bit?

Advice needed before build - complete beginner.
Hi! 1) Does this gimbal made for GoPro like cameras or it's a huge gimbal for dslr? If you want to buy huge gimbal for gopro it won't be steady. 2) If it's balanced properly and the PIDs are awesome then it won't be a proplem t…

Battery placement
the best place as mentioned is between yaw and roll motors - so you have freedom on rotating yaw (if only you don't use hollow shaft motors with slip ring which will solve this problem - but the thing is you don't want the weight of whole …

Stupid Question
I got the same problem: when i powered the motors - the roll and pitch was trying to align ~20 degrees on their axis. So all i needed was to recalibrate gyro. As for spasms - the main reason would be 1) wrong acc orientation, or maybe 2) you have t…
