Mavlink - Tiny Board

I have a Tiny Board, the firmware version of the board is 2.69 b1. Do I send mavlink 1 or mavlink 2 messages? I would prefer if it were mavlink 2 if possible.

What do you need that's in Mavlink 2? The only time I see myself using Mavlink 2 is for ESC telemetry.
