Encoder for Can unit…
  • So my gimbal is rather unique as in it’s not a balanced unit and it goes underwater. It works well for blue chip productions but now I have wanted to add limits on the pan/yaw motor. I have added a magnetic encoder direct on the Pan axis with a 1:1 ratio. The motor however is 1:6 ratio planetary motor and is 14 pole. No matter what I do in the gear ratio setting in encoder tab or driver tab it always keeps saying when trying to do el field calibration ‘wrong gear ratio”. I have also a second frame IMU in place to as I assume I need this to set movement limits on the pan/yaw? The encoder seems to give smooth feedback when I manually move that axis in the monitor but the el field thing is driving me up the wall. When I do thag calibration the camera swings left and right but then after 3 seconds or so the basecam shuts down and restarts. Any ideas?
