Controlling pitch and yaw only with 2-axis 8-bit board
  • I purchased a cheap eBay 2-axis gimbal that came with what seems to be a 8-bit basecam board, and also the 3rd axis expansion board:

I have a project where I want to control pitch and yaw only, since roll is already controlled physically.

    1. Do I need the 3rd axis board, or can I just connect the motors to pitch and roll and in the software indicate that one of them is yaw?

    2. Can I add buttons or a potentiometer to control to the pitch motor angle?

    3. If i solder headers onto the Yaw spot, would this work as a 3-axis, or is moving the headers the better way to get it running as pitch and yaw 2-axis? It looks like all the support components are on the board.

    4. Is it necessary / possible to add an analog potentiometer to this board for yaw follow?

    Thank you.
