So if you should give me a couple of good ressons to go from good working 8b system to 32bit, what they would be???

Thanks Garug for your advice. If I go ahead with the 32b instalation I will use the new sensors. It seems to be no brainer to go with the old one with the new 32b board even though they might be identical inernally when it comes to the components. W…

Going from 8b to 32b
The gimbal is on flying platform- hexacopter. It is actually working quite well with yaw in Follow mode with 8bit even without the external 2k♤pot connected to the yaw motor, so I am a bit hesitant to go through the rewiring and putting the 32bit i…

It is just that it took me a many trials and errors to find the right position of the sensor to eliminate the cross axis interaction. It is now slightly at an angle but it works perfect. That is why I would prefer to keep it there.

2.40b8 for 8 bit board??
Is there a new firmware for 8 bit board being developed which would have at least some of the features of 2.40b8? Such as auto PID tune?

YAW motor hot even at 20 power
I have installed the 8 bit board back and everything is working. External FC Roll and FC Pitch shows the readings, the RC pitch is operating from my Tx and the YAW motor works as should in Normal as well as Follow mode. I guess it must be the fault…

YAW motor hot even at 20 power
It does not work !! It only holds position like hell. Other than that the motor is not doing anything !!!!! I connected another motor, exactly like the one which is in the gimbal. The same thing. Gets very hot after about 30 seconds. It must be the…

YAW motor hot even at 20 power
It is all powered from one battery, exactly like before. Therefore I am only using the signal wire. But it is not working. I guess it is a faulty board. There is no any other rational explanation for it. I performed the Auto PID tuning just for th…

YAW motor hot even at 20 power
It makes no difference what Power I set it to. The motor gets searing hot in no time even at Power set to 20 !!! It is on 4s LiPo 16V. But it was running on 4s before on 8 bit board at power set to 160 and it was no problem there.

It could be a faulty board.... It has the latest Firmware. The Auto PID tuning went well. So, what could be wrong???

YAW motor hot even at 20 power
The other issue I am fighting is the FC controller input. I have it connected to the board from Naza V2 exactly the same way with only signal wire and now it is not working at all. Even the control of Pitch from my Tx is not working.

Everything is the same. Same motor, same battery. I have just changed the board from 8 to 32 bit. The Pitch and Roll seem to be working fine but Yaw is kind of locked. The motor is holding its position firmly. When I try to move it by hand the resi…

Yaw tuning for hexacopter
What is the best place to mount the main and the second IMU on an aerial platform? Are the ferrite rings important?

Thanks. I will give it a try. FYI, I have 0 expo and I have not changed the default deadband, I think is 17. I noticed that speed makes the biggest difference in here but I will play with the deadband. It is a fine balancing act☺. I want the gimbal…

Try to swap the pitch and roll motor ports. I know it sound odd but it is worth trying. It worked unexplainedly on mine.

FC wiring to FC roll and FC pitch
If you have a common ground in your system, that is powering all from one battery, you only need to connect one wire from FC to the gimbal board, the signal one.

BT HC-05 connection via USB port???
I knew that. But the board I have is MultiWii, the full metal jacket board and the serial port is not connected or it does not have a port in the jacket. So I wonder if I could connect the HC-05 to USB somehow.

Roll and yaw affected by pitch
On most of these home assembled gimbals the lenght of arms from the pivoting points on both ends of the pitch assembly can have different lengths which invariably causes the IMU to move in two planes instead of one even when only pitch input is appl…

No. I believe that the problem is caused by the gimbal movements. The axis of rotation must be perfectly perpendicular to each other. It is very hard to achieve on these kit home made gimbals as the construction allows for the impetfection to be bui…

I had to mount the IMU pcb off parallel to the axis of rotation to awoid the same issue. It could be that the IC is not sitting square on the board. It takes some experimenting with IMU pisitioning to to minimize the interference of movement from o…
