I'm putting together a brushless motor gimble for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, and was wondering if anyone might have any thoughts or tips on the build:
I managed to get a 2nd hand Alphatron EVF-035W-3G awhile ago and I'll give that a go without the front (it flips up) as a 3.5" monitor (480g) with a thin SDI cable. If it's too small I can look at getting a bigger monitor, but especially for travelling around, if I can use my EVF for a monitor too, that's great.
The Gimbal + Stand + Motor Upgrade is $2,600, the other items take the total to $2,987 and I need to add Lipo Batteries to that. Are there any particular batteries you'd recommend for the highpower Alexmos controller?
Thanks VERY much for any input! It's amazing to think less than a year ago I was jaw dropped by a video of the Movi, and now I'm able to put together something similar. Technology is wonderful :)
not really the best deal in town ! you missing stand & copter Yaw Axis plus landing gear! large voltage is not the best, more inefficient in my experience. here is what your looking for all one place no analog stick you can pick up for $5 seeedstudio.com ! here is full pkg GB85 no copter LDG http://brushlessgimbal.ca/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_22&products_id=650
Hi, thanks very much for your replies! Do you think large voltage is required to power those motors and the weight? Sorry, I'm very new to all this so I'm not too sure what the higher voltage actually gives you, but when I was looking around online I saw a few people recommend them for these weight loads.
For the Gimbal, they offered me US$ 2600 for the Gimbal + Stand, which is US$ 700 cheaper, but including the batteries, charger and BaseCam it's still about US$ 400 more than buying those parts separately.
Ah to be honest I hadn't looked at using it with a copter yet. Maybe one day, but I just plan on hand holding it at present. Wow the landing gear is expensive, but a copter would create some amazing looking shots. One day :)
I notice the joystick there doesn't have a button to switch between modes? But again I'm not too sure what real life difference that makes at the moment. It just seemed to be most of the ones I saw had a mode changing button.
Thank you again for your replies, quite interesting to get a 2nd opinion from you :)
Ah :) Buy hmm the landing gear ( CS016 ) is about $60 - $100 separately, which after including the batteries, charger and BaseCam (none of which are included in that one from AliExpress, but the GB85 motors are) still makes it cost $300-$340 more there.
Apologies if that's your store though! I guess since the product page got updated that it is?
extra cost is the landing gear, stand, battery, charger, controller, and GB85 upgrade that cost the 300 dollars! also the GB85 are 320 each . so the cost is the same. you pay 250 dollar premium for GB85 .
Ahh that's where we're getting confused, my apologies. But still at this point I'm really just looking for a handheld gimbal. One day maybe a copter and such.
