Slip rings

I have purchase motors with encoders and they have a magnet in the shaft for the controller
When you install slip rings how does the encoder work without the magnet that would be displaced by the slipring? -
It does not worko woithout the magnet

so you cannot run a slip ring and an encoder?

Yes you can ! some motors come with ring magnet & encoder, others are designed for slipping and encoders!
