need help on I2C problems
  • Hello guys,,

I am a new guy in this area

and I feel a lot of difficulties to set up my 3 axis gimbal

min is 3 axis hand-held gimbal and encoders attached to each axis motors

and my yaw board have a capacitator to cover up voltage lacking symptoms

my problem is when I click an auto motor set-up button which is in the basic tab of simpleBGC GUI v2.56 b4

my I2C indication is soaring up and eventually end with saying "emergency stop"

so I can't setting it up

and I don't know what cause I2C error

    please help me

  • Is that a encoder gimbal? with what connection have the encoders been connected?

I fail to understand "and my yaw board have a capacitator to cover up voltage lacking symptoms"

But over all it looks like you need to rethink the i2C cable routing, route it separately from other cables and use as short cables as possible. Use ferrite rings if needed on motor and I2C wire and if nothing else helps shied I2C cables, but for that you need good understanding of I2C related stuff, and an oscilloscope.

  • I appreciate your kind explanation on I2C connection

and will make modification like you said

you said you fail to understand :
"and my yaw board have a capacitor to cover up voltage lacking symptoms"

    my gimbal's powering sequence is battery - main board - pitch(encoder board / motor) - roll(encoder board / motor) - yaw(board / motor)

At the final stage of that diagram(Yaw part), there was a lower voltage level then others(roll or pitch parts)

To cover this voltage lacking symptom I attached a capacitor

that's what I wanted to said
