what is the standard size for cages?

I saw another thread here that made reference to a brushless dc motor saying it would not fit into standard cages. What is the standard cage size for motors that are used in 3 axis gimbals?

They vary, most common for hand held is around 30mm depth but you need to check the exact motor size, most motor manufacturers provide a schematic. I have just modified my roll cage to accomodate a larger iPower motor.
