Problem after upgrading firmware to 2.40b6
  • I have version 1 controller board with the Yaw control hardware addon running 8-bit 2.3b5 firmware. All works well.

    When I upgrade the firmware to 2.40b6 and the GUI the gimbal doesn't work properly, its as though the PID settings are wrong. It oscillates up and down in the roll axis by about 30 degrees. It also oscillates in the yaw axis by a few degrees.
    Any thoughts?

  • It's completely normal. I was afraid at the beginning as well, but I found it's the usual behavior when updating from 2.3 b5.

    Set every PID/power to 0 and update to the last version (2.40 b7 I think).

    Then start the calibration/tuning as usual, starting from power P, D, I and so on.

    You'll find the newer version have slightly different PID tuning. But it's worth the work on retuning... I guess.
