Calibrating the gimbal to face north

Hello all.
I'm new to this world and i have an Alexmos controlled gimbal.
I was wondering if there is a way of calibrating the gimbal so that the yaw angles are calculated in relation to the north.
Maybe doing calibration with the gimbal facing north? How about a permanent calibration?
My gimbal is a dys smart3 with the imu on the back of the camera.
Any ideas on this?

Garug

There is no compass, so it is not possible calibrate it to referencing north.

However you can start the gimbal facing north and that will be the reference until the gyro drifts, no special calibration needed.
