motor damaged?
  • I have a problem with the motor of the pitch (ipower 6208h- 150t).
The motor has not a fluid movement at times it seems like not having power.
The problem goes away if I disconnect the three pins and then reconnect them.
In the gui i have message "missing step" without touching the motor.
What can be? is the motor damaged? how can I check?
I used the gimbal very little; the value of P is 160, not much. PID are 62, 0.1, 27
    thanks
  • Missing steps is nothing to be alarmed. It just means that the motor has skipped steps (poles) because external forces or too high acceleration settings.

If the gimbal work ok on normal use, nothing to worry.

However if the gimbal does not operate good, then the motor might be damaged. most commonly some wire has broken, inside or outside the motor. This can be measured with a resistance meter. The resistance of each motor phase should be about the same. Typically between 10 and 20 ohms.

If the motor has been running very hot (above 70 degrees, then the magnets could be damaged.)
  • thanks Garug.
Today I made the tests after lowering the values of P.
    fortunately the problem is gone
