Roll tilts when turning on manually (but not when on through computer)
  • Hi,
This issue is driving me crazy... every time I turn on my gimbal, the roll tilts automatically a few degrees and stays that way. I have always had this problem with the came 7800 gimbal. At first I thought it was a calibration issue, but only now I realized that it ONLY happens when I turn on the gimbal from the switch when it is not plugged in the computer. If I plug in the computer, and click turn on Motors, it doesn't jump at all, just stays level.

Physically, the gimbal is well balanced and stays at every angle I place it at. I have done 6-point calibrations several times with a level cube, and it works perfectly when I turn it on through my computer. It seems like something is causing it to tilt when starting up or something.

    Here is a video:

And here are screens of some of my settings:

    I'd appreciate any help!
    Thank you
  • Hmm nothing seemed to work so I tried resetting back to default and downgrading a version (latest non-beta), and did another 6-point calibration then boom... fully level when turned on. Seems to have fixed the problem!

Maybe it was a problem with the beta version
  • You should set advanced/outer PI controller all values to 100 and perform follow offset calibration Auto.
  • Hi Garug,
What does the outer Pl controller values do at 100? I will try it out
    Thanks!
  • I am not quite sure, but 100 is a good value.
