Clicked 'USE DEFAULTS' and now everything is a mess
  • I just updated the firmware on my board to 2.3 b5. Couldn't quite figure out to get good control of the gimbal with pwm from my Arduino so I tried to start over and I clicked 'USE DEFAULTS' on the 'Basic' tab of the GUI. The option to set the control for Yaw was immediately greyed out and the pitch and roll axes started getting very jittery. It keeps rotating the motors with this high pitch constant wine. The motors sometimes rotate smoothly and then start jumping all over the place.
Before this had happened, the gimbal, aside from pwm control, seemed to work fine. The camera would stay still when I moved the gimbal around.
Please help, as my project deadline is coming up and I seem to have reverted to (less than) square one.
  • It would be good to save profiles now and then, then you can go back after doing some "mistake" like this.

The only help I cab provide is point you to the users manual. http://www.basecamelectronics.com/downloads/8bit/

And this might be helpful too http://www.basecamelectronics.com/company/blog/show/?newsid=69

Carefully following each step of the instructions is really necessary. Skipping some steps and you just need to start again.
  • Thanks a lot! Finally got it back to normal.
  • I'm having the same problem right now with my GL 3x gimbal. I managed to turn the Yaw on again, but the gimbal still keeps vibrating and going nuts. Could you please describe what steps you took to solve the problem?
  • Solved it. But still the YAW motor keeps drifting very slowly. Offsets or motor power or calibration nothing seems to work. Roll & Pitch motors are working fine.
